NBA Star Faces Charges After His SUV Crossed The Center Lane And Kills A Woman.
Blaylock still groggy in the hospital, but could faces charges when he recovers.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: The truth is still emerging from this horrible accident, but it doesn’t look good for Blaylock.
Mookie Blaylock has so far only been charged with driving on a suspended license and failing to stay in his lane in the head-on car crash that killed Monica Murphy (43). Blaylock could face much more serious charges after police gather additional information, including interviewing him about his version of what took place.
The accident occurred in the Atlanta suburb of Jonesboro where Blaylock’s SUV crossed the center lane and collided with Mr. and Mrs. Murphy’s vehicle. The authorities have been unable to interview Blaylock because he was in critical condition following the accident, but recently his doctors at Atlanta Medical Center upgraded him from critical condition to fair. This means additional information about the cause of the incident could be forth coming.
Blaylock was a first round draft pick in 1989 and became an NBA All-Star in 1994 while playing for the Atlanta Hawks averaging 17.4 PPG and 5.9 APG.
