Dennis Rodman to launch vodka line

Dennis Rodman, arguably the best rebounder of all time, and without question the most flamboyant player in league history, is taking his chances in a new business: vodka.

Hoopsvibe's quick call:  If Rodman can sell anything, it's vodka.  He'll probably do pretty well.

Starting on July 27th, the world (or at least those in California) will be able to purchase Dennis Rodman's Bad Boy Vodka, which was developed by Premier Brands, Inc.  The vodka will be exclusively sold and distributed through the Premier Brands channel, and the company will leverage Rodman's own bad boy image to sell it's Bad Boy vodka.  Rodman commented that the vodka is "a perfect representation of whom and what I'm all about."  (I'm not sure that's personally a good thing but hey if it sells bottles of vodka, god bless him).

"The taste is incredible, the bottle is a work of art, and the brand is already recognizable.  We have already had interest from brokers and accounts," said President and CEO of Premier Brands Jorge Olson.

Premier Brands, Inc is a consumer product company that creates, markets and distributes various consumer packaged goods, particularly liquids.  Some of their current products are Zizzazz Energy and Zimbi Alien juice (neither of which I've had, heard of, or seen) – but it sounds like Rodman's Bad Boy Vodka is aligned quite nicely with their current product line.

Despite his craziness, no one can argue that Rodman had an amazing NBA career.  In 14 NBA seasons, he was a five-time NBA champion, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year, won the rebounding title seven years in a row, and is a Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee.  Pretty impressive for a notorious party animal.  Again, god bless him.

I wish Rodman well in his new venture.  It will be interesting to see if he can sell more booze than P-Diddy.

Look out Ciroc, there's a new Bad Boy in town.
