New Jersey Nets Team Report – November 7

=== New Jersey Nets Team Report – November 7 ===

(Sports Network) – The New Jersey Nets were defeated Thursday by Ron Artest
and the Pacers, 87-81, at Continental Airlines Arena. Artest burned the Nets
for 21 points to lead Indiana to the win.

Kerry Kittles had 23 points and nine rebounds for the Nets, who dropped their
second consecutive outing. Richard Jefferson scored 18 points and Aaron
Williams netted 15 and hauled in 11 rebounds in the loss.

New Jersey played without forwards Kenyon Martin, who has an ankle injury, and
Rodney Rogers, who is bothered by an injured thumb. Both are expected to miss
tonight’s contest as well.

The Pacers opened up a 55-39 lead with just under nine minutes left in the
third period on Jermaine O’Neal’s jump hook. The lead reached 19 points
moments later, but the Nets ended the frame on a 9-0 run and trimmed the gap
to 64-54 after three quarters.

New Jersey got even closer as Jason Collins drained two free throws to make it
76-74 with 3:46 left in the fourth. However, the Pacers made sure there would
be no fourth-quarter comebacks, as Anthony Johnson hit consecutive three-
pointers to widen the lead to 82-74.

The Nets did get as close as three in the final minute, but it was not enough.

New Jersey visits Boston tonight for a clash with the Celtics.
