=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report – November 9 ===
(Sports Network) – The New Orleans Hornets were stunned Saturday by the
Chicago Bulls, 109-106, at the New Orleans Arena.
Baron Davis collected a game-high 35 points and 13 assists for the Hornets,
who suffered defeat at the hands of the lowly Bulls after handing the mighty
Los Angeles Lakers their first loss of the season on Friday.
Chicago led by one at halftime and took an 85-80 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Bulls went up by as many as 13 points at 98-85 when Jalen Rose hit a
three- pointer with 9:17 left to play.
But the Hornets came storming back with a 21-10 run and pulled within two at
108-106 on a P.J. Brown jumper with 1:33 remaining.
Kirk Hinrich put the Bulls up by three at 109-106 by making 1-of-2 from the
free throw line with 14 seconds left to play.
Davis missed a jumper at the other end, but the ball went out of bounds off a
Chicago player to give New Orleans another chance. However, after a time-out,
Rose blocked a jumper by David Wesley to seal the win for the Bulls.
The Hornets are off until Tuesday when they visit the Dallas Mavericks.
