(Sports Network) – Jalen Rose scored 34 points off the bench and Donyell
Marshall netted 22 as the Chicago Bulls stunned the New Orleans Hornets,
109-106, on Saturday at the New Orleans Arena. Eddy Curry added 16
points and nine rebounds for the Bulls, who came back from Friday’s
blowout loss to Philadelphia for their second win in three games.

Chicago led by one at halftime and took an 85-80 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Bulls went up by as many as 13 points at 98-85 when Rose hit a three-
pointer with 9:17 left to play.

But the Hornets came storming back with a 21-10 run and pulled within two at
108-106 on a P.J. Brown jumper with 1:33 remaining.

Kirk Hinrich put the Bulls up by three at 109-106 by making 1-of-2 from the
free throw line with 14 seconds left to play.

Baron Davis missed a jumper at the other end, but the ball went out of bounds
off a Chicago player to give New Orleans another chance. However, after a
time-out, Rose blocked a jumper by David Wesley to seal the win for the Bulls.

Rose did his damage on 10-of-15 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point

Jamal Crawford chipped in with 14 points and six assists, and Kendall Gill
netted 12 to go along with five assists for Chicago, which snapped a 10-game
road losing streak against the Hornets.

The Bulls are off until Monday when they host rookie sensation Carmelo Anthony
and the Denver Nuggets.

Chicago’s Tyson Chandler missed the game against New Orleans with a back
injury and is questionable for Monday’s game.
