(Sports Network) – The New York Knicks lost to LeBron James and the
Cleveland Cavaliers, 94-80, on Monday at Gund Arena.

Allan Houston had 22 points, while Kurt Thomas contributed 14 points and nine
rebounds for the Knicks, who have dropped consecutive games.

The Cavaliers stormed out to a 13-0 lead, highlighted by seven points from
James, and New York finally got its first points on Keith Van Horn’s basket
nearly five minutes in. Cleveland extended the edge to as many as 14 in the
period and held a 32-20 cushion after one.

Cleveland led 40-26 early in the second quarter, then used an 8-0 burst,
culminated by Chris Mihm’s two foul shots, to seize a 22-point advantage. The
Cavaliers led 56-39 at halftime.

The Cavaliers led 67-48 midway through the third period, but New York ended
the frame on a 17-7 surge and the cut the deficit to 74-65 after three
quarters. During the spurt, Houston had seven points.

Cleveland scored the first five points of the fourth to put the game out of
reach as Mihm’s two free throws with 9:29 left in the game made it 79-65. The
Cavs increased the gap to 21 later in the period and cruised to the easy win.

The Knicks are off until Friday then they visit the New Jersey Nets.
