(Sports Network) – The Atlanta Hawks were defeated Tuesday by the Los
Angeles Clippers, 115-103, at the Staples Center.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim posted 23 for the Hawks, who have lost three of their last
four. Dion Glover added 22 points and seven boards, and Stephen Jackson
registered 17 points.

Atlanta pulled within 80-75 on a jumper by Jacque Vaughn with 1:06 left in the
third.

But the Clippers scored four straight points. Quentin Richardson tipped in a
shot and Corey Maggette delivered an alley-oop dunk with 31 seconds remaining
to give them an 84-75 edge.

Glover’s three-pointer at the buzzer got the Hawks within 84-78 at the end of
the quarter.

Atlanta scored the initial four points of the fourth quarter to pull within
84-83.

However, Los Angeles responded with a 9-4 flurry. Melvin Ely’s three-point
play with 9:47 to go triggered it. Marko Jaric’s layup, 2:21 later, opened a
93-87 advantage.

The Clippers stretched their lead to 103-93 on two foul shots by Chris Wilcox
with 3:24 remaining.

The Hawks would not get any closer than seven the rest of the way.

Atlanta plays the final game of its five-game road trip tonight in Phoenix
against the Suns. The Hawks are 1-3 on the current road swing.
