Iverson and Richardson earn Player of the Week honors
New York, NY (Sports Network) – Philadelphia’s Allen Iverson and the Los
Angeles Clippers’ Quentin Richardson were named Eastern and Western
Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday,
November 10 through Sunday, November 16.
Iverson averaged 31.7 points, 7.7 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.67 steals per
game for the Sixers, who went 2-1 during the week. The guard led the NBA in
minutes per game, was second in scoring and steals per game and fifth in
assists per contest.
Richardson averaged 27.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per
outing to spark the Clippers to a 3-0 record. The guard recorded career-highs
of 32 points and 16 rebounds on November 11 in a 115-103 win over Atlanta.
Other candidates for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were
Miami’s Eddie Jones and Lamar Odom, New Jersey’s Kenyon Martin, New Orleans’
Baron Davis, Washington’s Gilbert Arenas, Golden State’s Jason Richardson,
Memphis’ Pau Gasol, Portland’s Zach Randolph, Sacramento’s Peja Stojakovic and
Seattle’s Ronald Murray.
