(Sports Network) – Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points, despite playing with a
sprained ankle, leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 95-92 victory over the San
Antonio Spurs on Thursday at American Airlines Center.

Nowitzki, who sprained his ankle in practice on Wednesday and was listed as
questionable for this contest, went 10-for-10 from the line in a rematch of
last season’s Western Conference finals. San Antonio won that series in six
games last season, en route to capturing the NBA championship.

Antoine Walker had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won
five of their last six games overall and improved to 6-0 at home this season.
Steve Nash contributed 12 points, eight boards and seven assists in the win.

Michael Finley had 17 points in the victory.

Dallas’ Antawn Jamison left the contest in the third quarter with a strained
hamstring. He had just two points and eight rebounds in 16 minutes before
leaving the game.

Shawn Bradley started his first game of the season for Dallas and had five
points and seven boards in 22 minutes.

The Mavs are off until Saturday when they host rookie sensation Carmelo
Anthony and the Denver Nuggets in the third of a four-game homestand.
