Pacific Division tussle in Oakland

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) – The Portland Trail Blazers bring a two-game
winning streak to Oakland tonight when they take on the Golden State Warriors
at the Arena in a Pacific Division battle.

Damon Stoudamire finished with 23 points and seven assists to lead the Trail
Blazers to an 85-78 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday at the Rose Garden.

Zach Randolph added 21 points and eight rebounds for Portland. Rasheed Wallace
chipped in with 14 points in the win as the Trail Blazers won their seventh
straight over the Rockets.

Portland’s Bonzi Wells is expected to return to the court tonight after
serving the final game of a two-game suspension.

Wells was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. In addition, the club
took away his title as co-captain. The penalties stem from Wells’ actions
during the third quarter of Monday’s 105-98 loss at Dallas.

Wells apparently cursed at head coach Maurice Cheeks and was then benched for
the final 16 minutes and 17 seconds of the game.

Portland is winless (0-4) on the road this season.

Jason Richardson notched 29 points, eight rebounds and six assists to lead
Golden State to a 101-91 win over Miami Friday in front of its home crowd.

Clifford Robinson contributed 21 points for the Warriors, who snapped a four-
game losing streak. Erick Dampier added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Mike Dunleavy notched 12 points and 14 boards for Golden State.

Golden State is 5-3 as the host this season.

In 2002-03, Portland swept the four contests with the Warriors, winning twice
at the Rose Garden and twice in Oakland.

Overall, the home team has won seven of the last nine meetings. The Blazers
have won five in a row and 14 of 16.
