Cavs suspend forward Newble

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) – The Cleveland Cavaliers Monday suspended
forward Ira Newble for one game after an argument with head coach Paul Silas.

Newble, who will miss Wednesday’s game against the Hornets, was apparently
involved in a profanity-laden argument with Silas. He and Silas exchanged
insults after Cleveland’s loss to the Hawks on Saturday.

The Miami-Ohio product signed as a free agent before this season. In eight
games with Cleveland, he is averaging 1.3 points and 1.6 rebounds.

Newble has also spent time with the San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks.

Meanwhile, guard Ricky Davis missed Monday’s practice and will not travel with
the team to New Orleans.
