(Sports Network) – Damon Stoudamire scored a season-high 28 points and handed
out seven assists to lead Portland over New Jersey, 97-93, on Friday at the
Rose Garden.

Zach Randolph added 26 points and nine rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who
snapped a two-game skid.

Jason Kidd nailed consecutive three-pointers to cut the Portland margin to
93-91 with 58.8 seconds remaining.

But after a Portland timeout, Stoudamire drilled a triple to increase the
Trail Blazers’ edge back to five with 40.7 seconds left to play.

Five seconds later, Kidd scored a quick two to get New Jersey within 96-93,
but Stoudamire drained a free throw with 14 seconds left to build on the lead
for Portland.

Kidd and Richard Jefferson each missed three’s in the final 10 seconds to seal
the victory for Portland.

Portland improved to 8-2 at home.

The Blazers are off until Wednesday when they host Jermaine O’Neal and the
Indiana Pacers.
