(Sports Network) – Allen Iverson scored a season-high 50 points to lead the
Philadelphia 76ers to a 98-86 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night
at the Wachovia Center.

Iverson hit 20-of-34 attempts, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, and
added six assists and five rebounds. He was coming off a poor performance on
Friday night when he scored 12 and made just 4-of-19 shots in a loss to

John Salmons added 13 points for the Sixers, who won their third straight home

The Sixers led 72-68 after three quarters and opened the final period with an
8-0 run. Iverson had a pair of foul shots and a three-pointer in the stretch.
The Hawks would not get any closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Iverson reached the 50-point mark for the sixth time in his career. He also
passed Billy Cunningham for fifth-place on the franchise’s all-time points
list with a basket in the third quarter.

Philadelphia’s Kenny Thomas had a game-high 13 rebounds.

The 76ers are off until Tuesday when they host the Toronto Raptors.
