Miami, FL (Sports Network) – The Miami Heat announced Monday that they have
signed free agent center Wang Zhizhi to a multi-year contract.

A four-year veteran, Zhizhi has appeared in 103 games with the Dallas
Mavericks (2001-02) and Los Angeles Clippers (2002-03). The 7-foot-1, 284-
pound center has averaged 5.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 10.3 minutes per game
in that span.

Zhizhi was selected by Dallas in the second round of the 1999 NBA Draft (36th
overall) and became the first NBA player from China when he signed with the
Mavs on April 4, 2001. He made his NBA debut the next night against Atlanta.
Zhizhi signed with the Clippers as a free agent before the start of last
season.

Miami made another roster move as the Heat waived forward Tyrone Hill. Hill
appeared in five games with the Heat this season and averaged 1.8 points per
game.
