(Sports Network) – Voshon Lenard matched a career-high with 38 points for
the Denver Nuggets, who outlasted the Golden State Warriors, 117-109,
Wednesday in a Western Conference battle from the Arena.

Lenard scored 26 points on 9-of-11 shooting in the first quarter alone, and
finished the game 5-of-6 from three-point land. His 26-point first period was
a single-quarter record for a Warriors opponent, and a Nuggets’ season high
for both a quarter and a half.

Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points and Nene had 18 points with a team-high nine
boards for the Nuggets, who won their fifth straight contest. As a team, the
Nuggets shot 59.7 percent from the field in the game.

Prior to Wednesday, the Nuggets’ last win at Golden State was on March 12,
2001. Before the 2001 win, Denver hadn’t won at Golden State since the 1994-95
season.

The Nuggets are off until Friday when they host the Warriors.
