(Sports Network) – Sam Cassell tied a season high with 27 points and handed
out eight assists, as the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns, 92-79,
at America West Arena on Wednesday.

Cassell scored 16 in the decisive fourth quarter for Minnesota, which won for
only the seventh time in 28 meetings all-time in Phoenix. Latrell Sprewell
added 21 points and Kevin Garnett chipped in 16 points for Minnesota in the
winning effort. Garnett also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Minnesota’s Fred Hoiberg came off the bench to score a season-high 14 points.

Minnesota outrebounded the Suns 38-31.

The Timberwolves are off until Friday when they play the fourth of a five-game
road trip at Sacramento against the Kings. Minnesota is 2-1 on the road swing.
