Houston Rockets Team Report – December 6

=== Houston Rockets Team Report – December 6 ===

(Sports Network) – The Houston Rockets kick off a three-game homestand
tonight, as they welcome the Detroit Pistons to the Toyota Center.

Houston comes into tonight’s tilt on a winning note after Maurice Taylor
scored 17 points off the bench on Friday to fuel the Rockets’ 83-74 win over
the New Orleans Hornets.

Yao Ming added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win, while Cuttino Mobley
contributed 16 points, as Houston won its second straight following a three-
game losing streak.

Despite trailing by four at the break, Houston took control of the contest
with 26 of the 38 total points scored in the third quarter. The Rockets opened
the biggest lead of the contest at 12 after Taylor nailed a jumper from the
top of the key with under a minute to play in the third period.

The Hornets could never seriously threaten in the final quarter, closing only
as close as five following five straight points by Darrell Armstrong to start
the stanza. Houston, though, answered with seven of the next nine points to
put the game out of reach.

Houston, which will be starting a three-game homestand tonight, has won its
last five games at home and is 6-1 at the Toyota Center this season.

Detroit won both meetings with the Rockets last season and has walked away
with a victory in three of the last four meetings. Houston has also lost two
straight and six of its last seven in the Motor City.
