Hawks suspend guard Stephen Jackson

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) – The Atlanta Hawks announced Monday that they
have suspended guard Stephen Jackson for Tuesday night’s game against Denver
for conduct detrimental to the team.

Jackson’s absence from the team will only pertain to the Hawks’ contest with
the Nuggets. He will rejoin the team on its charter flight to Memphis and play
in Wednesday night’s game against the Grizzlies.

Jackson was signed as a free agent in the offseason after spending last season
with the San Antonio Spurs. Jackson has started 20 games for the Hawks this
season and is averaging 13.1 points per game, as Atlanta has compiled a 6-15
record.
