Nuggets visit Atlanta

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) – Carmelo Anthony and the surprising Denver
Nuggets start a three-game road trip tonight when they land in Atlanta tonight
to meet the Hawks at Philips Arena.

Denver, which has won eight of its last 10 contests, is also scheduled to play
Philadelphia and New York on the swing. The Nuggets come into tonight’s
contest having lost 13 in a row at Atlanta.

The Nuggets had their six-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, as they fell
to the Boston Celtics, 116-111, Sunday at the Pepsi Center.

Rodney White paced Denver with 23 points in the loss. Voshon Lenard ended with
20 points and Anthony contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Nuggets.
Andre Miller collected 15 points and 10 assists for Denver.

The Nuggets, who have won three of their last five on the road, are 4-5 as the
visitor this season.

The Hawks suffered their fourth consecutive loss on Saturday, as they found
themselves on the wrong end of a 95-85 decision against the Cleveland
Cavaliers.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim had an excellent night for the Hawks with 43 points on 17-
of-27 shooting. Abdur-Rahim also had 12 rebounds for Atlanta, which has
dropped six of their last seven. Jason Terry netted 14 in the loss.

Atlanta is just 3-6 at home.

In 2002-03, the Hawks won both contests with the Hawks, winning once at home
and once at the Pepsi Center.

Overall, Atlanta has won five straight and six of the last seven meetings
between the two squads.
