76ers activate Robinson from injured list
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – The Philadelphia 76ers activated forward
Glenn Robinson from the injured list Wednesday and placed rookie guard Willie
Green on the IL.
Robinson has missed 18 of Philadelphia’s first 22 games this season. He was
suspended by the league for the initial three contests of the campaign and
also sat out 15 games because of a sprained left ankle.
Robinson, who was placed on the injured list November 25, has averaged 15.5
points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his four starts. He was acquired by
Philadelphia from Atlanta on July 23, 2003 as a part of a four-team trade that
also involved New York and Minnesota.
Green missed the last three contests with a sprained right thumb. He suffered
the injury during practice on December 3 and underwent successful surgery two
days later to repair a tear of the ulnar collateral ligament. Green, who is
averaging only 1.9 points-per-game, is expected to be sidelined until at least
Meanwhile, the Sixers signed free agent forward Zendon Hamilton to a contract.
Per team policy, terms were not released. In order to sign Hamilton, who
became the 13th player on the active roster, the team was granted a hardship
exception by the NBA due to its current injury situation.
Hamilton earned CBA Player of the Week honors for games played between
November 30 and December 6. He led the Yakima Sun Kings to a 4-0 record by
averaging 20.2 points, 14.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
