Rice lifts LA to victory in return from IL

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – The Los Angeles Clippers activated forward
Glen Rice from the injured list Wednesday, and he responded by nailing a
jumper from the top of the key as time expired to give the Los Angeles
Clippers a 100-99 come-from-behind victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Rice finished with six points on 3-of-9 shooting and hauled down six rebounds
in 20 minutes of work.

The 14-year veteran began his second stint on the IL on December 1st with a
bruised right knee. He is averaging 2.0 points and 1.6 rebounds in five game
this season.

Rice also missed the first five games this year with a hyperextended knee.

To make room for Rice, the club placed center Olden Polynice on the IL with a
neck strain.

Polynice opened the season on the IL, missing the Clippers’ first 12 games
with a strained neck. He’s posted 7.8 points and 6.7 points per game in his
14-year career.
