(Sports Network) – A battle of Midwest Division rivals takes place tonight,
when the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets play the first of a home-and-
home set at the Toyota Center.

Both teams come into tonight’s contest having won four straight games.

On Wednesday, Tim Duncan scored 18 points and pulled down a game-high 14
rebounds, leading the defending champion Spurs to a 102-77 win over the Trail
Blazers at SBC Center.

Tony Parker and Rasho Nesterovic both added 17 points for San Antonio, while
Hedo Turkoglu contributed 12 off the bench and Manu Ginobili netted 11 in the
victory.

San Antonio is 5-7 as the visitor this season.

In 2002-03, the Spurs won three of the four meetings between the two squads,
winning twice at home and once at Houston.

Overall, the Spurs have won three straight and seven of the last eight
meetings with the Rockets. San Antonio has won three of four and eight of its
last 10 at Houston.
