=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report – January 14 ===

(Sports Network) – The New Orleans Hornets dropped their third straight game
on Tuesday with a 94-89 setback to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Baron Davis scored 22 points for the Hornets, who have lost four of their last
five games. P.J. Brown and Stacey Augmon each chipped in with 11 points.

Davis started the game shooting 4-of-4, but finished just 4-of-19 the rest of
the way.

Leading by 10 heading into the final period, the Hornets allowed the T-Wolves
to even the game, as Sam Cassell’s trey capped a 20-10 run for Minnesota which
knotted the game at 83.

Both teams would exchange baskets down the stretch until New Orleans’ Darrell
Armstrong fouled Minnesota’s Fred Hoiberg, who was going for a loose ball off
his own missed shot with the score 89-89.

Hoiberg drained both free throws to give Minnesota a slim 91-89 lead with
under 30 seconds left. Hoiberg finished with 11 points.

New Orleans’ Davis attempted a three-pointer for the lead, but his shot
rattled off the rim and Minnesota grabbed the rebound. The Hornets were forced
to foul Latrell Sprewell, who drained both free throws for a 93-89 edge.

Armstrong threw the ball away on the Hornets next possession to seal the
victory for Minnesota.

The Hornets continue their three-game homestand on Thursday against Toronto.
