(Sports Network) – Minnesota has won four straight, seven of eight and 13 of
its last 15 contests overall to grab a percentage points advantage over the
San Antonio Spurs in the Midwest.
The T’Wolves kept their hot streak alive with a 94-89 win over the New Orleans
Hornets Tuesday evening.
Kevin Garnett registered a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds to
lead Minnesota to the win. Latrell Sprewell paced the T’Wolves with 26 points
and Sam Cassell chipped in 24 points and six assists. Fred Hoiberg rounded out
Minnesota’s double-figure scorers with 11 points off the bench.
The T’Wolves mustered the victory despite the absence of forward Gary Trent
and guard Troy Hudson due to sprained ankles. Both players are expected to
miss this game as well.
Minnesota outscored the Hornets, 25-17, to provide the difference in the
contest. The T’Wolves outrebounded New Orleans, 40-36, in the winning effort.
Minnesota has won eight of its last 10 on the road to improve to 13-6 in
foreign buildings this season.
The T’Wolves return to the court to face the Spurs at the SBC Center tonight.
