(Sports Network) – New Orleans lost on Thursday when Alvin Williams hit a
jumper late in overtime to lift the Toronto Raptors to a 78-74 win over the
Hornets at the New Orleans Arena.

George Lynch scored 12 points for the Hornets, who suffered their fourth
straight loss and made only 1-of-17 three-pointers. Baron Davis scored a
season-low 10 points. He was just 4-of-17 from the field and missed each of
his seven three-point tries.

P.J. Brown delivered 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Jamal Magloire added a
double-double with 10 points and 10 boards in defeat.

Jalen Rose hit a short jumper with a second remaining in regulation for
Toronto to force a 70-70 tie and overtime.

In the extra period, both teams scored two baskets before Williams hit a
jumper in the lane to snap a 74-74 tie with 17.6 seconds to go.

After Robert Traylor lost a pass from Davis out of bounds, Lamond Murray hit
one of two foul shots to put Toronto ahead 77-74 with 12.8 seconds remaining.

At the other end, Donyell Marshall blocked a two-point attempt by Traylor.
Williams got the rebound, and hit one of two from the line with 2.6 seconds
left to secure the win.

Davis has scored in double digits in all 39 of the Hornets’ games this season.

The Hornets are off until Saturday when they host Tracy McGrady and the
Orlando Magic.
