=== Phoenix Suns Team Report – January 16 ===

(Sports Network) – The Phoenix Suns try to make it two straight wins tonight
when they start a brief two-game homestand against the Golden State Warriors
at America West Arena.

On Thursday, Amare Stoudemire had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Phoenix to
a 105-96 win over Portland at the Rose Garden. Shawn Marion had 21 points and
Joe Johnson netted 20 for the Suns, who put the brakes on a six-game losing
streak and won for just the third time in 12 games.

Phoenix, which also halted a four-game skid on the road, earned its first win
since the blockbuster deal that sent star guard Stephon Marbury to the New
York Knicks.

The Suns, who will close the stand against the Trail Blazers on Sunday, have
lost seven of their last 10 at home and are 9-10 at home this season.

Phoenix has won three of its last five and nine of its last 13 against the
Warriors. Golden State has also dropped 15 of its last 17 in the desert.
