Atlanta Hawks Team Report – January 20

=== Atlanta Hawks Team Report – January 20 ===

(Sports Network) – The Hawks lost on Monday when Reggie Miller’s three-
pointer with 55.3 seconds remaining broke a tie and propelled the Indiana
Pacers to a 100-97 win over Atlanta at Philips Arena.

Miller, who finished with 13 points, hit an off-balance three-pointer with the
shot clock winding down to break a 93-93 tie and give the Pacers the lead for
good.

“It was a disappointing loss,” said Hawks guard Jason Terry. “That’s four
times we had the Pacers, so it’s going to hurt until next year when we see
them again.”

Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 32 points in front of a sellout crowd of 19,635
fans for the Hawks, who had won two straight. Atlanta wore lime green uniforms
from the 1969-70 and 1970-71 seasons during retro-day.

After Miller’s three-pointer put the Pacers up 96-93 with under a minute to
play, the two teams traded a pair of free throws. Terry then hit a lay-up to
draw the Hawks within one at 98-97 with six seconds left. Miller then hit two
free throws to push the margin to three and Stephen Jackson’s three-point
attempt to tie the game came up short, allowing Indiana to escape with the
victory.

Terry finished with 23 points and six assists for the Hawks, who lost for just
the second time in their last five home tilts.

The Hawks are off until Wednesday when they host the Chicago Bulls.
