(Sports Network) – Sam Cassell scored 30 points and Kevin Garnett added 28,
as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Vince Carter-less Toronto Raptors,
108-97, on Wednesday at Air Canada Centre.

The Timberwolves’ three-headed monster of Garnett, Cassell and Latrell
Sprewell each topped the 20-point plateau in this contest, as Sprewell
contributed 24 points in the winning effort.

Cassell also dished out 13 assists and grabbed seven boards, while Garnett
hauled down 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have won seven of their last
eight games. Minnesota shot 56 percent from the floor in the game, with
Sprewell leading the way by hitting nine of his 12 shot attempts.

“We are not an individual, we are one,” Garnett explained of the team effort
that produced the victory.

Minnesota outrebounded the Raptors by a 43-25 margin

Garnett recorded his league-best 34th double-double of the season.

The Timberwolves are off until Friday when they host Ben Wallace and the
Detroit Pistons.
