San Antonio Spurs Team Report – January 25

=== San Antonio Spurs Team Report – January 25 ===

(Sports Network) – The San Antonio Spurs found themselves on the wrong end
of a 98-96 decision against the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday at the SBC
Center.

Malik Rose scored 20 points and Tim Duncan added 17 points and 13 boards for
the Spurs, who had their two-game winning streak snapped.

This marked the second-straight game that San Antonio was involved in a nail-
biter. Tony Parker nailed a jumper with 3.8 seconds left to lead the Spurs to
an 86-84 win over Phoenix on Friday night.

After Rose put San Antonio ahead 94-93 on two free throws with 36 seconds
left, Jamaal Magloire’s basket seconds later restored the Hornets’ advantage.
Duncan then had an answer as the two-time MVP banked in a shot with 10.5
seconds left to put the Spurs ahead 96-95.

But the Hornets had one final shot and Darrell Armstrong drove the court and
threw up an off-balanced three-pointer that went through the net with 1.5
seconds left to give New Orleans a 98-96 lead.

Duncan’s last-second chance was off the mark.

San Antonio returns to action on Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
