(Sports Network) – Jason Terry finished with a game-high 22 points and
dished out nine assists to lead Atlanta to a 91-82 win over Detroit at The
Stephen Jackson contributed 21 points for the Hawks, who won for the second
time in three games and snapped a four-game road losing streak. Shareef
Abdur- Rahim chipped in with 14 points to help Atlanta halt a nine-game
losing streak in Detroit.
After the Pistons pulled within 72-63 on a jumper by Richard Hamilton early
in the fourth quarter, Atlanta scored seven of the next nine points. A
three-pointer by Dan Dickau with 9:28 to go put the team ahead 79-65.
Detroit got no closer than the final margin.
Theo Ratliff finished with 13 rebounds and five blocks for the Hawks, who
previously won in Detroit back on March 14, 1999.
Atlanta, which has not topped the 100-point mark in 19 straight games,
returns to action on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns.
