McGrady injures toe in Monday’s loss to Cleveland
Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) – Orlando Magic guard Tracy McGrady was forced
to leave Monday’s contest against Cleveland in the third quarter due to a
sprained left big toe.
McGrady was having a stellar night before the injury. He poured in 34 of his
36 points in the first half and tied the NBA record for three-pointers made in
a half with eight.
The Magic dropped a 99-98 decision to the Cavaliers.
McGrady entered Monday’s action second in the league in scoring with a 26.6
points-per-game average. He was also averaging 6.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists
over 44 games this season.
Meanwhile, forward Drew Gooden (hip flexor strain) also left Monday’s game
after playing just five minutes.
