losing streak.

Jefferson hit a three-pointer to open the scoring and the Nets raced out to a
9-0 lead and never trailed. Eric Snow finally hit a jump shot 4:35 into the
contest for Philadelphia’s first points.

Leading 11-4, Kidd hit a three-pointer to give New Jersey a 10-point lead.
After a basket by Snow cut the Nets’ lead to 14-6, New Jersey ran off 12

took a 26-12 lead into the second stanza.

A jumper by Jefferson with 8:41 remaining until halftime restored New Jersey’s
20-point lead, 36-16. Brian Scalabrine was fouled muscling inside for a basket
and converted the free throw to increase the lead to 39-16. A three by Lucious
Harris after a free throw by Jefferson gave New Jersey a 43-16 cushion.

New Jersey went to the break with a 56-35 advantage and maintained a big lead
throughout the second half.

The Nets extended their advantage to 26, 65-39, midway through the third
