Sizzling Timberwolves visit Warriors

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) – The Minnesota Timberwolves go for their sixth
straight win tonight when they visit Jason Richardson and the Golden State
Warriors at the Arena.

Earlier this season, the Warriors defeated the Timberwolves, 98-95, on
December 9 at the Target Center.

Minnesota won six in a row earlier this season from December 12-23.

On Monday, Kevin Garnett scored 31 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead
the Timberwolves to a 97-95 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi

Sam Cassell contributed 22 points and 11 assists in the victory for the
Timberwolves, who have won their fifth game in a row. Latrell Sprewell added
13 in the win, including the go-ahead basket late in the fourth quarter.

The Timberwolves, who have won two straight and four of their last five on the
road, are 16-7 as the visitor this season.

The Warriors come into tonight’s game well rested. Richardson poured in a
game-high 31 points, as Golden State snapped its 12-game road losing streak by
beating the Portland Trail Blazers, 105-87, on Saturday at the Rose Garden.

Richardson’s day was highlighted by his seven consecutive three-pointers, as
he went 7-of-8 from behind the arc in the win. Speedy Claxton added 15 points,
while Mike Dunleavy and Cliff Robinson each scored 11 points in the triumph.
Claxton and Dunleavy also dished out seven assists each.

Eric Dampier had a huge night on Saturday as well, scoring 18 points while
ripping down a game-high 20 rebounds for Golden State.

The Warriors are 13-7 at home this season.
