(Sports Network) – Stephon Marbury scorched his former team
with 35 points and eight assists, leading the New York Knicks to a 110-105 win
over the Phoenix Suns at Madison Square Garden.

Marbury, playing in his first game against his former team, exploded for 18
points in the second quarter, helping New York pull out its second straight
win following a two-game skid. The explosive point guard came home to the
Knicks in an eight-player trade on January 5. Marbury had spent two-plus
seasons with the Suns.

Keith Van Horn chipped in 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks, who were
coming off a 92-74 thrashing of the Boston Celtics on Friday.

Hardaway, who also came over to New York in the January 5 trade, had 13
points off the bench.

New York held a 51-44 advantage on the boards.

The Knicks are off until Tuesday when they host the Indiana Pacers.
