(Sports Network) – The Hornets lost to the Miami Heat, 94-70, on Saturday at
New Orleans Arena.

Jamal Mashburn was the Hornets only double-figure scorer with 18 points. New
Orleans dropped its second straight contest after winning the previous three.

Stacey Augmon started in place of Baron Davis, who sat out the game with an
ankle injury. Augmon shot 4-of-8 from the floor, while the other four Hornets’
starters combined to go 8-for-41 from the field. Forward P.J. Brown and center
Jamaal Magloire combined to go 0-for-9.

Udonis Haslem hit a jump shot in the lane to put Miami up 69-54 with 10:28 to
go in the game, but the Hornets used seven points from David West during a
13-3 run to close the gap to five.

It was all Miami after that as Lamar Odom and Eddie Jones kick-started a 20-0
burst, with back-to-back three’s, to put the game out of reach at 92-67 with
1:49 remaining. Jones scored eight points during the run.

The Hornets are off until Monday when they host Jason Kidd and the New Jersey
