(Sports Network) – The Pistons came up short on Wednesday night, falling
96-94 to the Sacramento Kings at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Richard Hamilton netted a game-high 27 points for the Pistons, who have lost a
season-high five straight games. Ben Wallace tied a season-high with 17 points
and hauled in a game-best 19 rebounds in the setback. Wallace also scored 17
on January 11 against Dallas.

Peja Stojakovic knocked down a jump shot with less than a second left in the
game, as the Kings downed the Pistons.

Detroit held a commanding 48-33 edge on the backboards, but made only 4-of-10
three-pointers. The Pistons fell to 10-3 in their last 13 home contests.

Detroit has dropped 10 of the last 11 meetings with the Kings.

Detroit’s Mehmet Okur sat out for the fourth time in five games with back
spasms. The Pistons are 0-4 without him.

The Pistons head into the All-Star break — 6 1/2 games behind Eastern
Conference-leading Indiana.

Detroit returns to the court next Tuesday in New York at Madison Square
