Denver Nuggets Team Report – February 13

=== Denver Nuggets Team Report – February 13 ===

(Sports Network) – Voshon Lenard scored 31 points to lead the Denver Nuggets
to a 107-98 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in the final game for both
teams before the All-Star break at the Rose Garden.

Rookie Carmelo Anthony continued his stellar play of late with 27 points for
Denver, which has won five of its last seven games. Earl Boykins contributed
16 points while Andre Miller dished out 12 assists in the victory.

The third overall pick in this past June’s draft, Anthony has transformed the
Nuggets from perennial doormats in the West to a legitimate playoff contender
in the conference. A pretty impressive feat considering he is still less than
a year removed from leading Syracuse to the NCAA championship as a freshman,

Anthony, who leads Denver with 19.4 ppg, has been the catalyst behind his
team’s 31-23 mark and has the Nuggets poised for their first trip to the
playoffs since the 1994-95 campaign.

Center Marcus Camby missed Thursday’s contest with a strained left hamstring.

Denver won for just the second time in its last six on the road and improved
to 11-15 away from home this season.

The Nuggets return to action on Tuesday against Philadelphia.
