(Sports Network) – The Toronto Raptors lost to the New Jersey Nets, 91-72,
on Friday at Air Canada Centre.
Donyell Marshall posted 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Raptors, who
suffered their fourth straight loss. Milt Palacio registered 12 points and
Morris Peterson contributed 11 points and nine boards in the setback.
Earlier Friday, Toronto placed All-Star swingman Vince Carter on the injured
list. He suffered an ankle injury during Wednesday’s contest against San
Carter sustained a moderate sprain of the left ankle in the fourth quarter of
the game against the Spurs when he landed awkwardly after a jump shot. He is
eligible to return to the active roster on February 29 versus Boston.
In 50 games this season, Carter is averaging a team-high 21.2 points to go
along with 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per contest.
Meanwhile, forward Michael Bradley was activated from the injured list.
The Raptors are off until Sunday when they host the Sacramento Kings.
