(Sports Network) – Former Philadelphia head coach Larry Brown and his
Detroit Pistons stop off in the City of Brotherly Love tonight to face the
76ers at the Wachovia Center.
This is the third meeting of the season between the two squads. The Sixers
have defeated the Pistons twice, winning once at home and once at The Palace
of Auburn Hills.
The Pistons come into tonight’s game on a two-game losing streak. On Sunday,
Detroit fell to Orlando, 87-86, in front of its home crowd. Richard Hamilton
led the Pistons with 23 points in the loss.
Ben Wallace had another solid game for Detroit, scoring 11 points and grabbing
13 rebounds. Newly-acquired Rasheed Wallace finished with 14 points and Mike
James added just seven. Rasheed Wallace was cleared to play by the NBA on
Saturday, one day after being pulled from a game because paperwork from a
three-team trade at Thursday’s deadline had not been certified.
The Pistons have allowed at least 100 points only four times this season.
Detroit, which has lost eight of its last nine games overall, is 14-14 on the
road this season.
Hamilton has scored at least 23 points in three straight games. He is
averaging 23.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists in that span.
