Washington Wizards Team Report – February 23

=== Washington Wizards Team Report – February 23 ===

(Sports Network) – The Washington Wizards lost their fifth straight game
overall on Sunday, as they fell to the Milwaukee Bucks, 113-85, at the MCI
Center.

Gilbert Arenas led the Wizards with 21 points, despite making just 7-of-21
shots, to go along with his six rebounds and six assists. Jarvis Hayes added
16 points for the Wizards.

A frustrated Jerry Stackhouse finished with just seven points and was ejected
in the third quarter. Stackhouse, visibly upset with a call, fired the ball
into the stands and directed a comment toward the official, earning him an
early trip to the locker room.

Milwaukee held an eight-point advantage at the half and quickly put the game
out of reach with a 13-2 run to start the third quarter. Desmond Mason scored
six points during the spurt and after his final basket during the stretch made
it 67-50, Joe Smith connected on an 18-footer from the left wing to give the
Bucks a 19-point cushion.

The Wizards never really could close the gap and trailed 87-62 after three
periods of play. Things only got worse for the Wizards in the fourth quarter,
as the deficit reached 30 points after the Bucks started the period strong
once again.

Washington is off until Wednesday when it visits the Toronto Raptors.
