(Sports Network) – Michael Redd hit 10-of-14 shots from the floor and
finished with 25 points, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 113-85 demolition of
the Washington Wizards on Sunday at the MCI Center.
Keith Van Horn, in his second game since being acquired in a three-team trade,
contributed 13 points in 21 minutes off the bench for the Bucks, who snapped a
two-game losing streak overall and won for the first time in eight road tilts.
Milwaukee’s last road win came back on January 5 against Philadelphia.
Brain Skinner and Joe Smith each finished with double-doubles for the Bucks,
as Smith recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds and Skinner 12 points and 12
Milwaukee held an eight-point advantage at the half and quickly put the game
out of reach with a 13-2 run to start the third quarter. Desmond Mason scored
six points during the spurt and after his final basket during the stretch made
it 67-50, Smith connected on an 18-footer from the left wing to give the Bucks
a 19-point cushion.
The Wizards never really could close the gap and trailed 87-62 after three
periods of play. Things only got worse for the Wizards in the fourth quarter,
as the deficit reached 30 points after the Bucks started the period strong
Mason finished with 14 points for Milwaukee, which outrebounded Washington by
a 47-38 margin. The Bucks’ domination in the paint was even more evident by a
54-38 points-in-the-paint advantage.
