=== New York Knicks Team Report – March 1 ===

(Sports Network) – The Knicks’ recent woes continued Sunday, as they fell
107-96 at the hands of the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

The Knicks did get good injury news before the game, activating starting guard
Allan Houston from the IL. Houston scored 13 points for New York, which has
dropped a season-high matching six straight — including all four on a just-
completed four-game road trip.

Kurt Thomas led the Knicks with 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Shandon
Anderson added 17 off the bench. Tim Thomas chipped in 16 points in the losing
effort. The Knicks had a three-game series winning streak stopped.

Anfernee Hardaway posted 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting off the bench in the
loss. Rookie forward Mike Sweetney made his first start for the Knicks, but he
went scoreless in nine minutes.

New York had a lot of trouble handling the ball in the game, as it committed
27 turnovers which led to 33 Denver points.

New York is now 10-11 under Lenny Wilkens.

The Knicks have slipped into a tie for sixth place with the Toronto Raptors in
the Eastern Conference. New York is just a 1/2 game ahead of eighth place

The Knicks have consecutive days off before hosting the Philadelphia 76ers on
Wednesday night. New York won the first meeting of the season with the Sixers,
99-88, at Madison Square Garden on November 22. The Knicks have won three
straight meetings with Philly.
