Magic grant veteran guard Strickland his release
Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – The Orlando Magic have waived guard Rod
Strickland after the veteran requested the move last week.
Strickland wants an opportunity to land with a team that has playoff
aspirations. The Magic are just 17-45 this season.
Strickland averaged 6.8 points and 4.0 assists in 46 games for Orlando.
The 37-year old was originally selected in the first round (19th overall) of
the 1988 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. The 16-year veteran has appeared
in 1,063 career games with New York, San Antonio, Orlando, Portland,
Washington, Miami and Minnesota.
