New York, NY (Sports Network) – The New York Knicks on Wednesday hired former
NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer went to work immediately as a scout for the
Pacers-Clippers contest on Wednesday night.

According to team president Isiah Thomas, all the details of Abdul-Jabbar’s
employment status have not yet been worked out.

The 56-year-old Abdul-Jabbar, formerly known as Lew Alcindor, has been
trying to find a job in the NBA after working as an assistant coach with the
Clippers at the end of the 1999-00 season.

Abdul-Jabbar, a UCLA product, played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles
Lakers. He holds NBA career records for most minutes (57,446), most points
