(Sports Network) – Jamal Mashburn hit a turnaround three- pointer just as
time expired to lift New Orleans to a dramatic 100-97 overtime win over
Chicago on Wednesday at New Orleans Arena.

Mashburn ended with 27 points and seven rebounds for the Hornets, who snapped
a two-game losing streak. P.J. Brown scored a season-high 22 points and hauled
in 11 boards while David Wesley chipped in 18 points in the win.

Jamaal Magloire had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Baron Davis contributed 12
points and nine assists before fouling out for New Orleans.

A three-pointer by Jamal Crawford with 9.8 seconds left in overtime tied the
game at 97-97, but the Hornets saved the heroics for one final shot. Mashburn
received the ball at the top of the key and knocked down a turnaround three-
pointer just as the buzzer sounded to give New Orleans the three-point
overtime win.

Mashburn,who surpassed the 20-point mark for the ninth straight time, has
averaged 21.5 points in 17 games this season.

The Hornets, who will host the upstart Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, have won
six straight after losing its last three at home. New Orleans has dropped two
of three to the Cavs this season, but could have the advantage on Friday, as
the home team has won 13 of the last 15 meetings.

Cleveland has also dropped 10 in a row in the Big Easy.
