(Sports Network) – Ron Artest scored a game-high 25 points and Reggie Miller
proved he can still make the big shot as the Indiana Pacers defeated the Los
Angeles Clippers in overtime 101-94 at Staples Center.

Jermaine O’Neal added 19 points with 17 rebounds and Jamaal Tinsley netted 17
points for the Pacers, who have won three straight and six of their last
seven. Miller finished with just six points, but it was his trey in overtime
that gave the Pacers the lead for good.

O’Neal also had four blocks to extend his streak to 38 games with a swat.

The Pacers scored five quick points in the extra session, gaining a 92-87
advantage. The Clippers proved tough, though, as a Marko Jaric basket followed
by a Corey Maggette trey from the top of the key, tied the game at 92-92 with
2:11 left.

However, Miller proved he is still clutch, draining a long three-pointer as
the shot clock expired, giving Indiana a 95-92 edge with 1:49 remaining.
O’Neal’s jumper pushed the lead to 97-92. The Clippers turned the ball over on
the inbound pass, all but ending any comeback attempt. Tinsley’s two free
throws sealed the contest.

At 45-16, the Pacers are 7 1/2 games ahead of the New Jersey Nets for the top
spot in the East and hold an eight-game advantage over the Detroit Pistons for
the Central Division lead.

Indiana, which is a league-best 16-6 against the Western Conference, has won
five of six and seven of 10 on the road and is 21-10 away from home this
season.

The Pacers will continue their trek on Friday in Utah. Indiana defeated the
Jazz earlier in the year and has won six of the last 10 meetings. The Pacers,
though, have dropped two of three and nine of their last 11 in Utah.
