(Sports Network) – Portland lost its fourth straight game on Thursday.
The Trail Blazers fell to the Detroit Pistons, 83-68, as Rasheed Wallace
returned to the Rose Garden.
Wallace, who spent seven-plus years in Portland, was traded to Atlanta on
February 10. The Hawks then sent Wallace to the Pistons as part of a three-way
deal right before the trading deadline.
Portland had just two players in double figures on the way to its lowest
scoring output of the season. Zach Randolph paced the team with 11 and Shareef
Abdur-Rahim had 10. The Blazers shot a dreadful 25-of-73 (34 percent) from the
field in the loss.
Detroit outrebounded the Blazers by a 51-35 margin and had 42 points in the
paint compared to 26 for Portland.
The Blazers previous season-low production came in a 78-71 loss to Detroit on
December 31, 2003.
Randolph has scored in double digits in nine straight games. He has averaged
18.7 points and 10.8 rebounds in that span.
Portland is off until Saturday when it hosts the Utah Jazz. It will be the
fourth and final meeting of the season between the two teams. The clubs split
a pair of contests at the Delta Center, while Utah defeated the Blazers,
86-81, on February 10th at the Rose Garden.
