(Sports Network) – Tracy McGrady scored a game-high 28 points and dished out
seven assists to lead the Orlando Magic to a 101-96 win over the Atlanta Hawks
on Friday at TD Waterhouse Centre.

Tyronn Lue chipped in 20 points, including eight straight in the final two
minutes of the game, on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor. Juwan Howard added 16
points and Drew Gooden netted 14, as the Magic snapped a two-game losing
streak.

McGrady’s jumper with five minutes remaining staked the Magic to an 88-81
lead, but Atlanta mounted an 11-3 run over the next three minutes, capped by a
Terry three-point play, to go on top 92-91. Lue followed at the other end of
the court with a three and then made a free throw on the next possession to
put the Magic back up 95-92.

Joel Przybilla converted a layup and Stephen Jackson made a steal and a layup
off the inbounds pass to give the edge back to the Hawks at 96-95 with 1:15
left. Lue answered again for the Magic by scoring the next four points and
Sean Rooks made a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining to seal the
win.

Lue also handed out six assists and pulled down six rebounds.

McGrady has scored 28 or more points in six straight games. He has averaged
30.7 points and 4.8 assists in that span.

The Magic are off until Sunday when they host the Sacramento Kings. Earlier
this season, Sacramento crushed Orlando, 122-92, on November 21, 2003 at ARCO
Arena.
