=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report – March 6 ===

(Sports Network) – The New Orleans Hornets were defeated by the Cleveland
Cavaliers, 88-85, on Friday in front of their home crowd.

Baron Davis paced the Hornets with a game-high 26 points, as they had a six-
game home winning streak snapped. Jamal Mashburn scored 21 points and ripped
down 10 boards, while Jamaal Magloire chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds
in the loss.

The Cavaliers held an 81-77 advantage with 4:46 to play, but Mashburn reeled
off six straight points to put New Orleans up by two.

LeBron James ended New Orleans’ spurt with a three from the left wing at the
other end of the court to give Cleveland an 84-83 lead that it would never
relinquish. Eric Williams drained a foul line jumper with 47 seconds left to
put the Cavs up three. Davis couldn’t hit a three on the next possession, but
David West was there to putback the miss to bring the Hornets within 86-85
with 32 ticks left on the clock.

Carlos Boozer hit a pair of free throws inside 10 seconds remaining to secure
the victory for Cleveland.

Davis has scored in double digits in 10 straight contests. He has averaged
23.2 points in that span.

The Hornets are off until Sunday when they visit the Toronto Raptors. The
teams have split a pair of games this season, as each club picked up a win on
the road. Toronto and the Hornets will also play on March 21st at New Orleans.
