=== Boston Celtics Team Report – March 10 ===

(Sports Network) – One of the greatest rivalries in sports continues
tonight, as the Boston Celtics welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to the
FleetCenter.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the two teams. The
Lakers crushed the Celtics, 105-82, on December 28 at the Staples Center. LA
has won two straight after losing the last three contests to Boston.

The Celtics are tied for sixth place in the Eastern Conference with the New
York Knicks, while the Lakers are in fourth place in the Western Conference.
LA trails San Antonio by a half-game for third place.

Boston comes into tonight’s game on a season-high six-game winning streak. The
last time the Celtics won six straight games was in November 2002.

On Tuesday, Paul Pierce hit a fade-away baseline jumper with 24 seconds to go
and added a free throw to help cement an 87-84 victory for the Celtics over
the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Pierce led Boston in the win with a team-high 23 points and added eight
rebounds and eight assists. Mark Blount had 15 points with a season-high 17
rebounds for the Celtics, who also got a 15-point performance from Ricky Davis
in the team’s sixth straight win following a seven-game losing streak.

Boston is 5-9 in Wednesday games this season. The Celtics, who have won three
straight as the host, are 14-18 at home.
